More jobs in a greener Nevada? Could be so.
Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 23:28 Lookout, it’s going to be raining $97.5 million in economic recovery funding from the U.S. Department of Energy for weatherization, the state energy program, and to provide cash assistance for geothermal development in northern Nevada.
This should be great news to Nevadans who are either unemployed or underemployed and trying to keep the foreclosure wolf at bay. The geothermal industry is beginning to really take off here in Nevada, and speaking for myself as the employee of a company who could really benefit from doing business with geothermal companies, I say ‘yippee’.

President Jimmy Carter went above and beyond by installing solar panels on the White House in 1979. Solar panels on the White House!
Seven years later, President Ronald Reagan took them down.

Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 22:03 Boulder City’s ‘Solar One’ is the third largest solar thermal plant in the world with a 64-megawatt capacity. Potentially, the site could generate 2,000 megawatts, or enough power for about a half-million people.
