EU moving to protect young ears from MP3 noise levels
Monday, September 28, 2009 at 20:19 The time I’ve spent with friends who live in Europe gave me a new appreciation of what real governments can do to improve health and safety without their hands being tied by lobbyists and corporate interests.
The appliances sold in Europe must adhere to much, much stricter noise levels (decibels) than similar products sold here. One reason that Europeans don’t complain much about this might be that they live in closer quaters. They, quite frankly, don’t appreciate the sound of the neighbors hair dryer early in the morning, or the dishwasher late in the evening when trying to get to sleep.
We could take a lesson from that.
