Call and get those lab results for yourself

Don’t assume, the next time the doctor orders lab tests and blood draws, that no news is good news. For many years now, Mr. Maven and I have had standing orders at the lab places that a copy be sent to all of our physicians, and more importantly - to us.

According to a recent study in the Archives of Internal Medicine, 7% percent of abnormal results are not reported to patients, and that’s probably an underestimate.
