Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 15:47 Conservative prepares to ‘swiftboat’ healthcare reform:
Start circling the wagons to protect Obama’s efforts to reform healthcare - so badly needed to advance the economic recovery, as well as just being…well, the right and civilized thing to do. Rich guy, Rick Scott of Conservatives for Patients Rights ( now there’s a hoot! ) is, according to Politico.com ready to spend $20 million of his own considerable wealth to defeat anything that might come out of the White House. This group is tied directly into the Heritage Foundation, well known for opposing anything that doesn’t agree with their narrowly focused agenda.
Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 18:34 Well, my lunch at the Tamarack with Ann Onn, of Ann Onn Everything, wasn’t quite that dramatic - although it would have been too cool if it had - but it just might be the beginning of something quite interesting.
It was a real treat to finally meet up with one of my fellow bloggers face to face…. especially the one known only as Ann Onn ( ‘anon’ - get it?). I told her to wear a disguise - perhaps one of those ‘groucho’ eyeglass and nose jobs, but she decided to come disguised as herself instead. Perhaps the better choice, since she’s perfectly sweet, attractive and intelligent.

In this mornings’ Reno Gazette-Journal the headline reads “Some homeowners decry bailout plan” and the pictured homeowner, Jon Mikelonis,is in high dudgeon over the fact that he was really, reallysmart and shouldn’t have to pay for those who made bad decisions. Bully for you, chief. Unfortunately, this is all bigger than your opinion of yourself.

“There is much irony in the fact that while liberals have won power in Washington big time, the left-wing media is collapsing all over the place. In the past couple of weeks, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Minneapolis Star Tribune and the mother of all liberal publications, the New York Times, all have issued SOS announcements.” Today’s column by Bill O’Reilly.
Wow, that’s astounding Bill - you’ve managed to connect the long standing financial crisis facing newspapers across the United States with ‘liberalism’ and the election of Obama. How do you ever find shirts and jackets with sleeveslong enough to accomodate that stretch?
Sunday, December 14, 2008 at 21:02 Checking in with the Reno area blogosphere this morning, I noted the following post on Ann Onn Everything about why she felt the time was getting near that she really could do without a daily newspaper. Her arguements are sound, as they should be from somebody who knows what’s what, with a degree in journalism. I can almost agree with her point by point.
