Monday Musings: February 15, 2010
Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 17:40 For a Winter Olympics that got started on such a tragic note, the Vancouver games seem to have gotten their footing back. A horrible death, technical difficulties at the opening ceremonies, and a dearth of snow notwithstanding, everything has to be better from here on out. The U. S. Team has already set the bar higher, with their first ever medal in the Nordic Combined Event, a grueling display of skill and stamina in the combined ski jumping and cross-country.
Yea! Johnny Spillane took the Silver, and the Canadians finally took home a medal with a spectacular mogul run by Alexandre Bilodeux. The way too laid back Bode Miller finally woke up and took a Bronze home.

Here’s a weird place to start the week: in full agreement with Dick Cheney.
Apparently, Dick has a clue when it comes to DADT and gay marriage. If the people want it he’s for it. That couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the fact that his daughter is lesbian, could it? Another way to look at this: Dick doesn’t give a rats’ ass on social issues that don’t have anything to do with the bottomline.
The teabaggers should take a hint from this.
