The One Best Tip For Greener Floor Cleaning
Friday, August 22, 2008 at 16:14 I’m really sick of all these little mickey mouse sticks with some sort of pad stuck to the bottom of them …. Swiffer and the Clorox Ready Mop and the like. If I ( or my designee who went to the store) didn’t come home with the wrong brand that didn’t work with the stick I had at the time, it was a miracle.
Plus you run out of the pads, or the bottles of solution to spray on the floor … just when you need it.
So, I turned back to something much better, more economical and environmentally friendly …. greener, the steam mop that I’d had hanging out in the garage all the while.
Instead of leaving a film of cleaning solution on the floor, and streaks on the wood floor that just seemed to attract more dirt and grime, it left nothing but a steam cleaned floor that dried in no time at all.

Put out by Bissell, they run about $80. But buy a few extras of the cloth head covers so you can take the dirty one and toss it into the laundry and always have a fresh clean one. That’s it. No more running to the store. Tap water and electricity are all you need. The steam is fast and very, very effective on everything from ceramic tile to vinyl.
Here’s what the Target ad says:
• For an all-natural, 100% chemical-free cleaning on hard floors choose the steam mop that heats up in just 30 sec.
• Environmentally friendly because steam is a natural disinfectant, this 360° swivel mop head easily gets into hard-to-reach areas
• Washable microfiber mop pads are safe for hard surfaces and reusable, eliminating the waste of disposable cloths
• Slim, lightweight design; quick-release cord wrap
Hey, that says it all.
