That’s the latest in wisdom to leak out of the steamy backrooms of Congress, as the Democratic cousins fight amongst each other like sweaty, bored kids in the back of the family station wagon. They’re missing the salient concept here of course … yes, the Republicans would sure like to see a huge, resounding failure of any effort toward enacting a modern health insurance system.

Can we move past the children's hour tea parties?

I’ve been resisting the urge to write about these so-called ‘tea parties’ for a couple of days now, but when I watched them on the national and local news tonight, you’d think that every main street in the country was clogged with tea party tax prostesters today,so I got my ire into gear.

The beginning of a beautiful friendship...

Well, my lunch at the Tamarack with Ann Onn, of Ann Onn Everything, wasn’t quite that dramatic - although it would have been too cool if it had - but it just might be the beginning of something quite interesting.

It was a real treat to finally meet up with one of my fellow bloggers face to face…. especially the one known only as Ann Onn ( ‘anon’ - get it?). I told her to wear a disguise - perhaps one of those ‘groucho’ eyeglass and nose jobs, but she decided to come disguised as herself instead. Perhaps the better choice, since she’s perfectly sweet, attractive and intelligent.
