The Gramercy Tavern Parksider: a new cocktail fav
Monday, September 15, 2008 at 21:43 I had to just cruise through Williams-Sonoma this afternoon to see what was new on the shelves in the way of neat finishing sauces or cocktail mixers. I use the adjacent Talbots store as my excuse. Today I came home with a bottle of the Gramercy Tavern ‘Parksider’.
Mixed with either gin or vodka, according to the label, it makes a grand cocktail or equally swell non-alcoholic refresher. What got my attention was the pairing of basil and lime. I know, it sounds odd. But that’s why you have me around, to try this weird stuff first and let you know.

I was torn between vodka and gin. That’s usually not a huge deal as I’m from Utah “and will drink anything.” Harrdeeharrharr.
No, I went with the gin because I thought the aromatic nature of Tangueray would be a natural with this elixer. And it is. I took one of my tiny, vintage Harold’s Club or Bust cocktail glasses, put a fresh basil leaf in the bottom ( out of the garden) filled it 3/4s of the way with crushed ice, added about a shot of gin and then topped it off with the Gramercy concoction.
Add index finger to stir gently. Sip. Enjoy. Make another.
I recommend this product.
